I decided to start SUM to bring together a community of art lovers who want to get more involved with the USC Museums and take advantage of USC's wonderful resources. My aim was to create a space for students to learn about museum culture while also fostering new relationships and friendships among themselves and developing their careers and knowledge.

I chose to be part of SUM because I'm passionate about making art, both its practice and appreciation, an important aspect of people's lives. I look forward to raising awareness about art events on campus and throughout the city while facilitating collaboration between USC students and the university s museums.

As a long-time museum lover (and former museum intern + exhibitor), I wanted to be in community with other art lovers! Many USC students aren't aware of the art resources right here on campus, and I'm excited to be the person who helps get that information to them.

SUM is a student led collective that like me is passionate about conserving, and developing initiatives that aim to bring art education to the forefront. As an Art History major, and more importantly art aficionado; museums are vital to my learning. I’m excited to work alongside my fellow SUM members on supporting the museum culture around our student communities and beyond.
